Academic copies of SPACE GASS
are available for engineering students and university staff. They
come in two forms as follows:
- A university network version
which is only supplied to universities offering engineering degree
courses. This version
is intended for installation on the university network for unlimited
student and staff access. It is similar to the full commercial
version of SPACE GASS with all standard and optional features
enabled and no capacity restrictions or expiry dates imposed.
It can be supplied to eligible universities for a nominal once-off
fee of $250 (to cover our costs only) and is updated each year
thereafter for no charge. Email us at university@spacegass.com
for more information about obtaining a university network version
of SPACE GASS for your university.
- A free student version which
engineering students can obtain from their university and install on their personal
computers. It is ideal
for learning purposes, student projects, etc. The student version
is similar to the full commercial version of SPACE GASS, but
with the following restrictions:
- Catenary cable analysis is disabled.
- Steel and concrete design is
disabled.
- Expires at the end of March
next year.
All other features such as
full graphics and non-linear analysis are fully operational.
Note that both the university
network version and the student version are for teaching/learning
purposes only. It is against the law
to use them for commercial purposes!
Jobs created with either version
are fully compatible with each other. This means that you can
work on your model at home or at your university without any compatibility
problems.
The student version of SPACE GASS is available from your university. Please let us know if you have any problems obtaining a copy.
