This is to notify you of a critical bug fix for SPACE GASS 14.50.155 to 14.50.164 — that affects the results of jobs analysed using the SG-X solver.

Details of the bug

We have resolved an issue in the SG-X solver where shear forces were displayed incorrectly on-screen and in text reports when translational member end releases (Ty or Tz)—the 2nd and 3rd fixity characters) were applied.

NOTE: Other solvers (Paradise and Wavefront) were not affected

Affected versions

Version 14.50.155 released on 27 July 2026, to version 14.50.164 released on 21 Aug 2026. No earlier versions were affected.

Remedy

Fixed in version 14.50.165

The problem is fixed in version 14.50.165 and all later versions, released from 29 August 2026 onwards. If you have one of the affected versions then we strongly advise you to upgrade to the latest version.

A number of other minor bugs have also been fixed in later versions of 14.50, so it is recommended that you upgrade even if you have v14.50.164 or newer.
